Reformation & All Saints Sundays
On October 26, we'll celebrate the Reformation, which led to the establishment of the Lutheran Church. We'll also celebrate All Saints Sunday on November 2, where we remember all our loved ones who have passed and are at rest with the Lord, and also remember that through the gift of Jesus, sinners like us are transformed into saints. Carnations may be purchased in memory of loved ones, and those who have died within the past year will be remembered in our prayers of intercession with a special chime for each person. We hope you can be with us for those celebrations!
Food 2 Go 4 Kids
Our Food 2 Go 4 Kids ministry helps provide weekend meals to 39 children in need at Maxwell Elementary School. Our next delivery is on November 6. Thank you for your generosity in supporting this important ministry to our children!
Election of our new Bishops
We have exciting news! Our Southwestern PA Synod Assembly resumed on June 12-14, and Pastor Melissa Stoller (Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Evangelical Mission) was elected as the new Bishop of our SWPA Synod! Our current Bishop, Kurt Kusserow, retired at the end of August, and Bishop-elect Stoller began serving on September 1, and was installed on October 18. Please keep Bishop-elect Stoller, and our entire Synod, in your prayers in this time of joyful and prayerful transition!
*** Also, our current Churchwide Bishop of the ELCA, Elizabeth Eaton, announced her upcoming retirement. On July 30, 2025, at the ELCA Churchwide Assembly in Arizona, Bishop Yehiel Curry, the current Bishop of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, was elected as our new Churchwide Bishop of the ELCA.
Please lift up Bishop Curry in your prayers as well!
